My passion for leadership started at a young age through sports. From age 13 on I was the captain of my competitive soccer team. This passion for leadership followed me into college by sparking an interest to take the LEAD 1000 class. This class introduced the study of leadership to me. I had previously only been familiar with the practice of leadership. The basic level class gained my interest early on and lead me through a pathway of taking three very different leadership based classes. The first class I took gave me an opportunity to have hands-on experience working with underprivileged elementary school students. The second class I took focused on the study of leadership in group setting situations. The final class I took was Comparative Politics, this class allowed me to study different political systems and leaders from countries outside the United States.
